How prayer times are calculated here

Times in Egypt use the Egyptian General Authority of Survey method (Fajr 19.5°, Isha 17.5°), calculated from each city's coordinates. The country follows Africa/Cairo time (UTC+3). Because the Sun rises and sets in the east before the west, the call to prayer in eastern cities comes about 4 minutes earlier per degree of longitude than in western ones, which is why times differ between cities of the same country. They may differ by a few minutes from local mosque timetables, which often use local rounding.
