Adhkar for Food
Begin every meal with Allah's name and end it with thanks.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
Transliteration
Bismillah.
Meaning
In the name of Allah.
Virtue: The Prophet (peace be upon him) told us to say Allah's name, to eat with the right hand and from what is in front of us.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ
Transliteration
Bismillahi awwalahu wa akhirah.
Meaning
In the name of Allah at its beginning and at its end.
Said if you forgot to say Bismillah at the start and remembered during the meal.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَٰذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ
Transliteration
Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi at'amani hadha wa razaqanihi min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwah.
Meaning
All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me, without any might or power from me.
Virtue: Whoever says it after eating, his previous sins are forgiven.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ، غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ وَلَا مُوَدَّعٍ وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبَّنَا
Transliteration
Alhamdu lillahi hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fihi, ghayra makfiyyin wa la muwadda'in wa la mustaghnan 'anhu Rabbana.
Meaning
All praise is for Allah, abundant, good and blessed praise, which can never be enough nor given up, and of which we are never free of need, our Lord.

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ
Transliteration
Allahumma barik lahum fima razaqtahum, waghfir lahum warhamhum.
Meaning
O Allah, bless them in what You have provided for them, forgive them and have mercy on them.
The guest's dua for the host who fed him.
